Geneva's Augustana College Students Perform In Holiday Programs

Six area students with talents ranging from the chorus, to the brass ensemble, to the orchestra perform in one of the season's most popular programs.

Six Geneva Augustana College students will join the chorus, or band or orchestra for the holiday concert, Christmas at Augustana on Friday, Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m.

Among the 300 students in the college's choirs, brass ensemble and orchestra are: Corbin McGhee, a junior majoring in Neuroscience/Biology; Ben Humbert, a sophomore majoring in Biology/Neuroscience; Margaux Deutsch, a senior majoring in English; and freshmen Mark Sieber, Lauren Reed and Leah Velisek. 

This is the fourth annual Christmas at Augustana and is one of the most popular programs of the season.

Another popular Christmas program is a performance of Handel's Messiah on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. The voices of the college's students join with Quad-City community members, the professional Handel Oratorio Society Chamber Orchestra with a few guest soloists thrown in to perform this holiday tradition.
