"Once On This Island" presented by Rosary High School

Tickets are now on sale for Rosary High School’s fall musical "Once On This Island". The Tony-nominated show by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty will run November 4 & 5 at 7:30 pm and Nov. 6 at 2:00 pm.

It’s a calypso-flavored story of a poor island girl, Ti Moune, who falls in love with Daniel, an upper class boy. Central to the story are four gods that the peasants believe rule their lives. With its touching story and catchy pop and Caribbean inspired score by songwriters of the film "Anastasia" and the popular shows "Seussical" and "Ragtime", "Once On This Island" is a multi-cultural feast for the heart, mind and soul.

“ ‘Once On This Island’ is a jubilant musical, set in the Caribbean, but it has a serious heart,” said Lynn Ahrens. This show deals with issues of prejudice; but it’s also about parents and their children and the inevitability of growth, change, grief and letting go.”
