Local Church Choirs To Join St. Peter Church For An Ecumenical Concert on Jan. 30

The public is invited to hear the beautiful sounds of four church choirs, an accomplished soloist and concert organist. Three churches will participate in the music program at Geneva’s , January 30 at 3:00 PM. The concert will be followed by a reception. 

The program includes performances by:

  • ’s choir under the direction of Amy Steenson
  •  Choir under the leadership of Patty Mangis
  • St. Peter’s Traditional Choir under the direction of Paul Schuch
  • St. Peter’s Ensemble Choir under the direction of Anne Krahulec
  • , pastor and concert organist
  • Betsy Easton, of Rockford, Illinois, soloist, accompanied by Rev. Martins Emeh.
  • John Gurne, of Rockford, Illinois, concert organist 

and Sherri Stasell, Music Ministry Leaders for St. Peter Church, said they are pleased to join with other church musicians in praising God and sharing their gifts of song and music with the greater community. St. Peter’s Pastor, Father Martins Emeh, said, “I am grateful for Pastor Martha Halls of Geneva Lutheran Church, and Pastor Mark Tusken of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and their generosity in joining with St. Peter as we celebrate our centennial. It promises to be a wonderful afternoon." The concert is part of the year-long celebration for St. Peter’s Centennial which culminates on July 11 of this year.
