UPDATED What's Canceled for the Extreme Weather Tuesday: Geneva Schools, WCC, Forest Preserves

Geneva Library opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday. We'll keep you posted as more are announced.

What's closed or cancelled due to the extreme winter weather? Here's a quick list. Click on the links below for more information.

Geneva School District 304 and Batavia School District 101 schools ARE CLOSED TUESDAY.

All Waubonsee Community College campuses will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 28, due to extreme cold. Classes, services, activities and events are canceled through Monday night.

Due to severe weather conditions, St. Peter School will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.

GENEVA CLOSURES:

  • FAITH CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS
  • FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF GENEVA: WBS CANCELED. FBCG OFFICES OPEN.

Some Metra trains are expected to be delayed. Please refer to Service Updates for line-specific information and check the National Weather Service for details about Chicago’s weather forecast. Nothing was delayed Monday, but it's good to check.

All Geneva Park District classes/programs are cancelled on Tuesday, Jan. 28, due to the weather. The fitness centers and facilities will remain open during normal business hours of 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Batavia Park District programs were cancelled Monday. No word as of 7 p.m.whether Park District programs would also be cancelled Tuesday.

Geneva High School's College Information Night scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 28, has been postponed due to the extreme weather we are experiencing. Staff is currently working to reschedule this event and will announce a new date and time as soon as possible.

All Kane County forest preserves and facilities will be closed TUESDAY, JAN. 28, due to extreme weather. Preserves will be closed and gates will remain locked at all preserves to keep both the public and staff safe in the sub-zero temperatures and double-digit wind chills. All staff must report as scheduled.
