Weather Alert: 'Embedded' Thunderstorms, Hail, High Winds, Some Fox River Flooding Overnight
The National Weather Service Chicago says to be on the lookout for thunderstorms, winds up to 60 mph and some flooding of the Fox River—not as much here as north and south of here, in Montgomery and Algonquin.
There's a storm a-comin'.
A rolling thunder type of storm. "Hail the size of quarters." And maybe wind gusts of up to 60 mph. Oh, and flooding.
It's not the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, it's just spring in Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles. But it's worth your notice, especially if you're out and about after 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

"With ground somewhat wet from multiple rounds of rain during the first half of the week, localized flooding and significant rises on smaller streams may be seen," the NWS-C says.
In the next couple days, "some area rivers may be near or above flood stage."
There is a Flood Watch in place, too.
About 1 to 2 inches of rain fell over parts of the upper Fox River in southern Wisconsin last night and another 1 to 2 inches is expected in our area.
"Residents in low-lying, flood-prone areas along rivers in Northern Illinois should continue to closely monitor this developing situation and listen for later possible river flood warnings and statements," the NWS-Chicago says.
