Roby Will Attempt 'World's Longest Candy Cane' at Geneva's Christmas Walk 2012

Guinness Book of World Records: Chef Alain Roby will attempt to make the 40-foot world's longest candy cane at Geneva Chamber of Commerce's jam-packed Christmas Walk weekend.

Be prepared to hold your collective breath, Geneva, at 7 p.m. Dec. 8, during Geneva Chamber of Commerce’s  Christmas Walk weekend.

That's because Geneva's very own world-renowned pastry guru, Chef Alain Roby of the will put the finishing touches on the “World’s Longest Candy Cane” in an attempt to obtain his third Guinness World Record.

The candy cane will stretch 40 feet down Third Street, beginning at Third and Campbell and stretching to the intersection of Third and James.

All are invited to join in and cheer Roby on as he pulls sugar down a full festive block of Geneva's Third Street.

This holiday event is just one of many scheduled all weekend long, Dec. 7-9, as part of Geneva's annual holiday-season celebration.

The excitement starts with Geneva Chamber’s Christmas Walk at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 and includes Santa Lucia’s arrival, Santa and Mrs. Claus opening their home to visit with children, Graham’s Chocolates First Candy Cane of the Season Parade and so much more!
