VIDEO: Sights, Sounds of Swedish Days Parade

There are some media that are more affective than others in telling a story. Or at least, some media enhance the storytelling in ways we couldn't or didn't do very often just, say, five years ago.

Videography adds sound and movement, obviously, and those are two dimensions that are essential to a parade.

We don't have smell or touch in the new-media storytelling sensorama—not yet, anyway—and in some cases, that's probably a good thing. Although the smell of funnel cakes and cooking brats do add to the Swedish Days experience, and should be part of the story.

We'll leave the smells and textures of Swedish Days to your imagination, however, and invite you to watch this collection of video clips that's admittedly raw and unpolished, incomplete and imperfect, but also captures some of the movement and sounds of the 2011 Swedish Days parade.
