Community Corner

Tim Vetang Is 2012 Wood Award Winner

From the City Council to the Cultural Arts Commission to the Lions Club to St. Peter Church to Dancing With the Geneva Stars, Tim Vetang is one of Geneva's great community volunteers. Now, he's the winner of the 2012 Wood Award.

Tim Vetang is one of those folks you see everywhere.

If there's a parade, a fundraiser, a charitable event, a Lions Club function or a community project that needs doing, he's there—a true Geneva leader and public servant for four decades.

That's why it was only fitting that Vetang should earn Geneva's highest honor for citizenship and community service. Vetang was presented the Wood Award during a dinner ceremony Tuesday night.
