We're known for Swedes and Italian immigrant population, but there's plenty of Irish in Geneva's past and present. Just take a tour of Geneva Patch.

Geneva is known for its Swedish and Italian immigrants—just take a look at the church directories or the last names and maiden names of my mom's bridge club if you have any doubts.

But there's more than a bit o' Irish green to go with Geneva's blue and white.

The following are some of the interesting Irish connections you'll see. And we're not just talking , either.

A Geneva teacher with Irish roots was one of the great forerunners in the field of education here.

We have wonderful Irish Dancers of some world renown, as well as a Senate page who's been Irish dancing since she was 4.

And we've got historic characters. (The headline here is a little misleading, but you'll see the Irish reference to Kit when you click on the link.)

More recently, we've got a fun photo gallery from last week's St. Patrick's Day parade in St. Charles.
