Stan Esping to Be Remembered With Plaque Oct. 1 at Esping Park

Park District's longtime leader to be honored again at the park that bears his name.

hard work and dedication to promoting open space and recreation in Geneva throughout his life will be recognized with a ceremony Oct. 1 at the park that bear his name.

In honor of to the community, the will dedicate a memorial plaque at Esping Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.

GENEVA PARK DISTRICT STANLEY A. ESPING MEMORIAL RESOLUTION #2011-9

WHEREAS, the , an agency currently providing quality recreational opportunities and facilities for more than 27,000 individuals within the Park District boundaries; and

WHEREAS, the Geneva Park District takes special pride in recognizing those individuals who have demonstrated a deep and continuing commitment to the enhancement of recreational opportunities and open space; and

WHEREAS, Stanley A. Esping faithfully served the recreation movement in Geneva as the Park District’s first Director for 26 years and later as a board member for four years, where he had been instrumental in the advancement of services to individuals, the acquisition of open space and the development of parks within the community; therefore be it

RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF THE GENEVA PARK DISTRICT that we applaud his outstanding service and commitment to the Geneva Park District and hereby recognize his service with a memorial plaque placed at the base of the flagpole located at Stanley A. Esping Park. Dated this Monday, Sept. 19, 2011.
