Remember: Spring Forward, Fall Back and Be Safe

Hey, Geneva! Time to set your clocks back an hour. Get an extra hour sleep and enjoy your weekend!

Hey, Geneva! Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour before you go to bed tonight.

And since you're getting an extra hour of sleep, why don't you use it to make yourself and your family a little safer.

With Daylight Saving Time coming to an end, the Kane County Health Department and Kane County Office of Emergency Management are encouraging residents to make sure their families are prepared for a possible emergency. A few simple steps, such as checking the batteries in smoke alarms, developing a family communications plan, and putting an emergency kit together can go a long way toward keeping families safe.

"As we all get ready to turn our clocks back this Sunday, it's important for families to use this opportunity to get ready for possible emergencies," said Kane County Health Department Executive Director Paul Kuehnert.

Information on preparing for emergencies can be found  at www.Kanehealth.com or www.Ready.gov.
