Grab the Kids and Go to a Purim Carnival, a Secret Garden and a Mother-Daughter Book Discussion

There is a lot to do and learn in Geneva this week.

If you love books, culture and theater, there's some wonderful stuff to do with the kids this week, including two really great features at the Geneva Public Library, the annual spring play at the high school and really fascinating Purim Carnival at the .


TALE SPINNERS

  • Where/When: 4 p.m. Thursday at , 127 James St.
  • Why Go: Attention kids in grades 4 and up. Do you like to write short stories or draw? Come and create the Jr. Journal. All the artwork and writing will come from you.
  • Pricing: Free.


THE SECRET GARDEN

  • Why Go: The Geneva High School Music Department presents based on the children’s book by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

THE SPELL OF SLEEPING BEAUTY

  • Where/When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday at , 111 W. Main St., St. Charles.
  • Why Go: This classic is adapted by Vera Morris, and is an all-ages show on the Children's Stage.
  • Pricing: $12, $10 for students and seniors.


CHILDREN'S PURIM CARNIVAL

  • Why Go: Everyone is to join us for games, prizes and a hamentashen (a special Purim cookie).

  • Where/When: 6:15 p.m. Monday at , 127 James St.
  • Why Go: The is Cicada Summer, by Andrea Beaty. The group is for girls in grades 4 and up and a caregiver. The library provides the pizza.
  • Pricing: Free.
