Geneva Quiz: Can You Identify This Hard-Working Geneva Dog?

Introducing "What the Poop Is This?" a weekly, or whenever, contest to guess what's in the photo and where it was taken in Geneva.

OK, here's the deal.

Other Patch sites have a weekly feature in which the local editor takes a picture of something obscure in town and readers guess what it is. In Montgomery, it's called "," which is clever and perfectly appropriate for Montgomery Patch.

I was having trouble coming up with a title for the Geneva version—"Weird Geneva Photo Quiz" didn't seem to cut it. I've already tried "Sunday Mystery Photo" and Denise Linke does "Geneva Architecture Challenge" on Sundays.

So if you've got a good column title, let me know in the comments field.

In the meantime, we'll give the column a name conjured by Tricia Nagel just about 10 minutes ago: "What the Poop Is This?"

I hesitated with the word "poop" because our Week 1 photo is of a dog, and I was worried about a mixed metaphor. This is a wonderful dog, and she/he is pretty darned well-known in Geneva, and that's all the hints you get.

"What the Poop Us This?" is a Geneva game, but I'm blatantly stealing the rules from outstanding Montgomery Patch Editor Andre Salles. Here you go:

It’s easy. You see that picture up there? Your job is to tell me what it is and where it was taken.

Nothing to it, right? If you think you know, leave your answer in the comments below. Only guesses left in the comments will be eligible. The prize is free Patch gear, and believe me, you won’t want to live another day without that.

Is this the dog that works at Ken's Automotive?

How about Jake the Diamond Dog from the Kane County Cougars?

Rick, as far as a name, how about "Geneva Poop Scoop?" My vote is for Jake. He's wonderful. If that was my dog, she'd grab the bat and run away around the field with it.

My vote is that his Emma who is Teresa's dog. Teresa works at Ken's Auto.

Tom and Nancy are right!

Rick, I suppose "Indecent Exposure" would be a bit over the top for Geneva, but no worse than "The Full Monty" and at least there'a a camera term.

Emma is the best - glad she got some face time. How about Quick Pic or Photo Lotto. And no I don't play the lottery, they just came to mind.

More bad camera puns for a feature title - "I Shutter to Think" or the less corny "Focus on Geneva" or maybe "Picture This" and finally "Tell-a-Photo".

Yes, that dog is definitely Emma. My kids love Emma, and she loves kids! Makes a trip to Ken's Auto a little less painful.

That is Emma my granddaughter dog. She is beautiful, sweet, and hard working like my daughter Theresa of Ken's Auto Center. Jude Fairbank
