Geneva Park District Superintendent of Parks Joins '60 Men Who Cook'

Word of mouth is the best PR out there, which is how our next chef joined 60 Men Who Cook.

Larry Gabriel’s name is probably familiar to many of you.  He is the Superintendent of Parks at Geneva Park District, and I think you will all agree, does a wonderful job as we have some of the best parks around. Last year Larry teamed up with Bill White (who I spotlighted previously) and had so much fun, decided to fly solo this year.

Striking a good balance between familiar flavors and robust flavorings and spices has certainly contributed to Larry winning awards in chili and barbeque competitions. He considers his food great tasting and healthy, which is important, as Larry is also a marathon runner who will run his 11th marathon in June.

For 60 Men, he will be preparing roast pork with green chiles. Larry considers this a “dish that adapts well to using fire roasted Anaheim peppers and helps to take a classic in a new direction.”

When asked why people should vote for him, Larry confidently says, “People should cast a vote for me simply for the fact that after you have tasted my dish once, you will make a return trip for a second helping.”
