Geneva Park District Hosts Halloween Weekend Hullabaloo

Fun and fright for all ages at Geneva Park District's Halloween events, Oct. 26-27.

The Geneva Park District is hosting three events certain to "bewitch" the whole family this Halloween season.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, families can enjoy two "spooktacular" celebrations. The fun begins with the annual Halloween Hayday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Stephen Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road. Following this event, the Howl-o-ween Dog Parade will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. at Peck Farm Park, 4038 Kaneville Road.

Peck Farm Park will also host Haunted Hikes for teens and adults from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27.

Bewitching Family Fun: Halloween Hayday and Dog Parade

This year's Halloween Hayday will begin inside the SPRC. The festivities will include a kid’s carnival, hay rides, bounce houses and a cosmic cake walk. Children should come dressed for a costume contest. Admission is free for adults. Pre-registration for children is $5 ($8 for non-residents) and day-of-cost is $7 ($10 for non-residents). This event is encouraged for children 10 and under.

Following the Halloween Hayday, Peck Farm Park will hold the annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade. Participants should be sure to arrive early to line-up at 3:45 p.m., as the parade begins promptly at 4. Families and dogs should come dressed in their best costumes. Prizes will be awarded. Pre-registration is recommended for this free event.

"Both events are a fun way to get the whole family into the Halloween spirit," said Traci Wicks, marketing and public relations supervisor. "We're looking forward to seeing all the fantastic costumes and making some great memories."

Teens and Adults: Haunted Hikes at Peck Farm

As night falls and the spirits rise, Peck Farm Prairie will host a terrifying trek through its haunted trails.

"This hike is not for the faint of heart," affirms Traci Wicks. "We recommend this event for those 11 and over. Leave the little ones at home, and prepare to scream."

Antonio's pizza will be available for purchase. Pre-registration is encouraged. The Haunted Hike entrance fee is $8 per person in advance, or $10 at the event.
