Geneva Bicycle Committeeman: Remember That May Is National Bike Month

May is the month of bicycles—so here are some suggestions from Geneva Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee member Dave Peterson about how to get involved.

Feeling restless after a long winter?

Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.
—John F. Kennedy

The price of gas got you down?  Consider this:

The bicycle is the most efficient machine ever created. Converting calories into gas, a bicycle gets the equivalent of three thousand miles per gallon.
—Bill Strickland, The Quotable Cyclist

Need to lose a few pounds and get in shape?

Get a bicycle.  You will not regret it if you live.
—Mark Twain, Taming the Bicycle

Bikes are great recreation. More people every year are finding them useful for commuting and shopping too.

The League of American Bicyclists is promoting May as National Bike Month.  Bike to Work Week is from May 16-20 and Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 20.
