Geneva Architecture Challenge: Eye-Catching Homes Spark New Column

It's the ultimate drive-by scavenger hunt.

So you think you know your way around Geneva? How long will it take you to find each of these three houses, all of which sit well within the city limits?

Here are a couple of hints: One of these homes is on the East Side, while the other two are in the historic district. We’ll print the street addresses in next week’s column.

Join Geneva Patch as we explore the city’s amazing residential diversity. Some of the homes we feature will be historic, or at least antique. Some will have unique architectural features, some will have incredible landscaping and some will be just plain quirky. One thing they’ll all have in common: They’ll all be real Geneva Eye Catchers.

Post your answers in the comments section below. The first to get the correct answer will win Patch swag.

How about if I just know one?

Hi, Beth! One is more than anyone else, so far! Which one do you recognize?

Well, it helps that the log cabin is a block or two from my home and we saw it being built! It's on Sandholm Street, near Esping Park; it's by the railroad tracks/crossing and past (heading south) the point where Sandholm curves. The road is completely closed at the tracks and the cabin is right there.

And I really like that blue house...

I've received e-mails from the owners of the blue house and the Swiss-style stone house, both of whom said they enjoyed seeing their homes pictured on Patch. The blue house owner, rescon@sbcglobal.net, also identified the streets the other two houses sit on, so I think we have at least one winner...
