Celebrate the High Holidays With Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors!

Come celebrate the Jewish High Holy Days in the Tri-Cities with Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors (FVJN). Whether you are Jewish or part of an interfaith Jewish family, and whether or not you are a member of a neighboring synagogue, please come and spend time with your Jewish neighbors.

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. The central observance of Rosh Hashanah is the sounding of the shofar, the ram's horn. The "cry of the shofar" is a call to repentance. This High Holy Day begins the "Ten Days of Repentance" which culminate with  Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the holiest day of the Jewish year.

Rosh Hashanah Service:  Thursday, September 9, at 10:30 a.m., at FVJN (121 S. Third Street, Geneva).

Break-the-Fast. Saturday, September 18, at 5:30 p.m., at the Geneva History Center (immediately north of FVJN). This family-friendly and interfaith-friendly potluck will include signaling the ending of Yom Kippur with the blowing of the shofar, by Mike Weinberger. (Bring your own shofar and blow along!)
