Elburn Fire Department Hosts Flag Raising, Open House to Honor 10th Anniversary of 9/11

The Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District will be hosting a flag raising, memorial service and open house on Sunday, Sept. 11.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. The Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District will be hosting a flag raising, memorial service and open house on Sunday, Sept. 11.

The open house is in remembrance of all those who died due to the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

"Our nation will never be the same and neither will the families of those who lost a loved one," Assistant Chief Tate Haley said. "Help us celebrate the lives of the victims of this tragedy as well as remember the sacrifices made by the firefighters, policemen and rescuer workers who have the desire to serve, the ability to perform and the courage to act."
