The holiday elves have been hard at work transforming Geneva’s beautiful streets and buildings into a winter wonderland. Boughs with twinkling lights adorn the street poles, garland and ribbons line the streets, and shop windows are brimming with gift ideas setting the stage for the “Geneva Christmas Walk,” the annual welcome to the holiday season.
Geneva’s Christmas Walk is set for Friday, Dec. 7. This festivity has been a part of Geneva tradition for more than 40 years and is happily presented by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce with the support of the city of Geneva.
Beginning at 6 p.m., this popular event will treat visitors to a very merry weekend full of hometown traditions as well as special treats — from dozens of strolling carolers, a live nativity, roasted chestnuts, candy canes and other holiday treats, the lighting of the Great Tree and of course, a visit from the jolliest of all elves, Santa Claus.
Christmas House Tour
Activities commence with the annual Christmas House Tour. As always, the tour features five Geneva residences specially decorated for the holidays by Geneva florists and interior designers. The decorators are All Chocolate Kitchen, bb interiors, Celebration Design of Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center, Neri Landscape, The Mossy Twig and PURE Gardener, Plandscape, Inc. and Scentimental Gardens. Those individuals taking part in the tour will not only enjoy the architecture but also the unique collections and interior design, which reveal the personalities of the families residing in the homes.
The five homes will be open for the tours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Tickets for the House Tour are $30 per person and are available at:
