tops Chicago Magazine's recent list of the best suburban places to live. When it comes to towns with the lowest crime rates, best schools and excellent homes, Geneva
The editors at Chicago magazine analyzed statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data, the Illinois State Board of Education, the U.S. Census Bureau, and local police departments to come up with two lists, which showcases the 12 best suburbs and 12 best city neighborhoods, according to a Chicago Magazine article.
Geneva was the only Kane County town selected by Chicago Magazine as a best place to live in the suburbs.
In choosing Geneva, Chicago Magazine wrote: "This former grain-mill town is known for fun stuff to see and do. (Just ask the tourists who flock here.) There’s boating (on the Fox River), baseball (the Class A minor league Kane County Cougars), and fine dining (the excellent A Toda Madre)."
Chicago Magazine also points to Geneva's historic district as a great place to see some 19th-century architecture and mentions the fact that Geneva has the best grade school — Mill Creek — and high school in the county.
Other suburban towns that made Chicago Magazine's list include: Highland Park, Woodstock, La Grange, Hinsdale, Wheaton, Frankfort, Barrington, Orland Park, Wilmette, Northbrook and Lake Bluff.
