Andrea at Swedish Days: A Lingonberry Filling and Delicious Breakfast

The flavors of Swedish Days do not disappoint!

Once again, the flavors of did not disappoint my palate Saturday morning.

The Geneva Lutheran Church’s iconic Swedish pancake breakfast left my stomach satisfied and my taste buds craving more berry goodness.

Served up by cheerful volunteers under a giant yellow tent in front of the Lutheran Church, my $6 plate was filled with my selection of fruit-filled Swedish pancakes.  I decided to go for the trifecta, so I selected one of each flavor: ligonberry, blueberry and apple. Sausage links were added to my plate of perfectly grilled pancakes and orange juice and coffee was available. Scandinavian music added to the ambiance of this ideal summer morning meal.

Though the pancakes on my plate were already very sweet, I proceeded to douse the maple syrup that melted on my warm, rolled pancakes. Each bit was better than the last, though I decided that the ligonberry filling was my favorite. Maybe I am part Swedish after all…or maybe I am merely hallucinating on account of my pancake-induced sugar coma.
