Pack & Give Back to help Northern Illinois Food Bank feed hungry neighbors

Grab your friends and co-workers for a family-friendly food-packing and fundraising event with a competitive twist.

Pack & Give Back will be held Saturday, July 19 at Northern Illinois Food Bank’s West Suburban Center in Geneva. Teams of five will compete to pack the most food and raise the most money to assist the food bank’s efforts to solve hunger.

With non-stop music, surprise guests, food, a lively environment and a post-packing party, Pack & Give Back caters to all ages. Families, clubs, corporate groups, churches and schools are all encouraged to take part and show off just how dedicated they are to feeding our hungry neighbors.

Teams can sign up for one of three packing shifts beginning at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Each shift includes two hours of packing competition, followed by awards, food, music, surprise guests and fun. All participants who register online by July 1 will receive a Pack & Give Back commemorative t-shirt.

To register your team of five, or to learn how to become an official sponsor, contact Shannon Thompson at sthompson@northernilfoodbank.org or 630-443-6910 ext. 125.

Teams and individuals are encouraged to fundraise through the event website at nifb.convio.net/packandgiveback. All funds will benefit Northern Illinois Food Bank, where $1 donated provides $8 worth of groceries to a neighbors in need.
More than 60,000 people each week seek food assistance through Northern Illinois Food Bank’s network of 800 partner food pantries and feeding programs across 13 counties. To learn more, log onto www.SolveHungerToday.org
