Midwest Sports Academy offering free Martin Luther King Middle School Basketball Clinic Jan. 20

Sixth- through eighth-grade boys and girls are invited to sharpen their skills at Midwest Sports Academy’s Martin Luther King Keep the Dream Alive Basketball Clinic. The free event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at The Einstein Academy in Elgin.

Under the guidance of an expert staff, led by Midwest Sports Academy CEO and long-time AAU and collegiate coach Jim Cook, players will learn competitive shooting and dribbling mechanics, defensive fundamentals and understanding of offensive and defensive game strategies. Attendees will be grouped by comparable skill level, age and gender. Players should bring their own basketball to the clinic at The Einstein Academy, located at 747 Davis Road in Elgin.

As an added bonus, a special celebrity guest will make an appearance to sign autographs and pose for photos at the end of the clinic. The guest’s identity will be revealed on January 16.
