Captain Kody Goes to Peck Farm Park

If you live in Geneva, you probably already know that you do not need to travel far from home to feel as though you are miles away. Even when I am just strolling around downtown Geneva, I feel like I could be anywhere in the world. What do I need a vacation for?

One of the more popular “vacation-esque” places to go in Geneva is . Complete with a three-mile paved path, numerous grass paths, flowering prairie grasses, a butterfly house and more, Peck Farm Park is an ideal spot to go relax and enjoy nature or get in a good run, bike ride or walk. It is a favorite destination of mine because it is truly a place to get away from it all.

While I prefer taking a bike ride around Peck Farm Park, Kody and the family took a late afternoon walk there the other day. Not only did we encounter many other people and dogs, but we felt a cooler breeze for the first time in over a week. We witnessed the precipice of a gorgeous, soon-to-be-breathtaking sunset just beyond the tall prairie grasses. It was an excellent way to end our summer day and an even better way to ensure that Kody would sleep through the night.
