On Saturday, November 12 between 6pm and 10pm at Water Street Studios, Geneva based sculptor, Rita Grendze will be starting on a new project and is looking for help from the public. She will be working to create book angels by folding, bending and stiffening its pages to enhance its physical presence. She suggests that participants allow approximately one hour per book angel. In lieu of payment for the workshop, Grendze asks participants to BRING A MINIMUM OF TWO HARD-COVER BOOKS: one for your own book angel, the second to be used in her "Well-read" solo show and installation piece.

This workshop is part of Water Street Studios monthly Second Saturdays at the Studio. Other featured artist include jeweler/metalsmith Lisa Dienst-Thomas and painter Greta Bell. In conjunction with the Second Saturday event, a special show will be running in the second floor gallery featuring the work of potter, John Spiteri and painter, Carey Overstreet.

"It is great that artists from all over the region can use this gallery to highlight their work." said Water Street Studios gallery director, Steven Lockwood.  "We are excited to work with such high caliber artists like John and Carey."
