DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;At 7 pm on Friday\, January 18 at the Unitarian Univer
 salist Society of Geneva (UUSG)\, the community is invited to a discussi
 on of the multiple causes and potential solutions for the problem. We wi
 ll begin by viewing a recently-created video featuring Father Pfleger an
 d others speaking about the increased violence in Chicago.\n&nbsp\;That 
 will be followed by a panel of speakers who will explore what we can do 
 to help address the problem. The Rev. Dr. Lindsay Bates\, minister of UU
 SG\, will talk about how to confront feelings of hopelessness. Adrienne 
 McCauley\, organizer with DuPage United - Fox River Valley Initiative\, 
 will discuss the need and potential for community organizing within loca
 l institutions.&nbsp\; John Laesch\, from Northern Illinois Jobs with Ju
 stice will address ways to create jobs. Jean Pierce\, from the League of
  Women Voters\, will share ways in which the state could create revenue 
 to restore resources for mental health\, education\, etc.\nThis program 
 is sponsored by the church&rsquo\;s Social Justice committee. On the thi
 rd Friday of every month\, except December\, recently-released documenta
 ries are shown to the public. &nbsp\;A short discussion will follow the
