 tern Illinois University presents its 7th annual mathematics conference 
 for educators&nbsp\;Jan. 25-26\, 2013\, at the&nbsp\;Q Conference Center
  in St. Charles\, IL. The two day retreat-style conference is geared tow
 ard middle and high school educators and has a Science\, Technology\, En
 gineering\, and Mathematics (STEM) focus. This year the featured keynote
 speakers are&nbsp\;William Ayers\, formerly Distinguished Professor of E
 ducation and Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois at 
 Chicago\, and&nbsp\;Dr. Danny Martin\, professor of Education and Mathem
 atics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. There will be special wo
 rkshop sessions by&nbsp\;Mike Byster.\nThe conference theme is &ldquo\;C
 ommon Practices&rdquo\; and sessions will focus on the Common Core State
  Standards Mathematical Practices. Participants will be immersed in rich
 \, hands-on\, thought-provoking activities that will help facilitate the
  necessary shifts in instruction called for by the new standards. The wo
 rkshop content will include algebra\, geometry\, trigonometry\, calculus
  and integrated math/science\, and math/technology sessions.&nbsp\;Educa
 tors can earn 9 CPDU's.\nVendors/exhibitors include ETA hand2mind\, Texa
 s Instruments\, Barbara&rsquo\;s Bookstore and Explore Learning.\nThe Ch
 icago Teachers&rsquo\; Center is an academic unit within the College of 
 Education at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. The mission of
  the Center is to improve urban education through collaborative partners
 hips among the College of Education\, schools\, community agencies\, and
