'Tis the Season! Captain Kody Meets Mr. Grinch

There’s mistletoe and holly, candles everywhere, but Kody’s most captivated by Mr. Grinch—all the Who’s down in Whoville better beware.

It appears that Kody just might have met his match this Christmas. He’s been unsuccessful in his quest to bark away the giant, glowing tree in our living room and he cannot seem to conquer the crazy stuffed animals that sing Christmas tunes when he pins them on the ground and drags them mercilessly about the house. But Kody did recently meet a fuzzy green fellow that doesn’t like Christmas much at all …

“He’s a mean one, Mr. Grinch … Your heart’s an empty hole. Your brain is full of spiders, you’ve got garlic in your soul, Mr. Grinch! I wouldn’t touch you with a 39 ½ foot pole!”

After I reprimanded Kody the other day for stealing baby Jesus from the manger scene, Kody gently returned Jesus and immediately went for that fuzzy green fellow, typically known as Mr. Grinch. The Grinch is perhaps the only Christmas decoration that my Mom has approved for Kody to play with.

Every day, Kody enjoys going to find the Grinch and never tires of marching around proudly with green fuzz showing from the sides of his mouth. Shockingly, though, Kody has not really injured Mr. Grinch. I actually think they have become friends. Kody has become infatuated with the Grinch and takes him all about the house to show him the decorations. Mr. Grinch is Kody’s new favorite toy, and it appears that the good ol' green loather of Christmas is pleased with the new friendship and daily attention from the oh, so spirited Captain Kody.

“Welcome, Christmas, bring your cheer. Cheer to all Whos far and near … Welcome Christmas while we stand, heart to heart and hand to hand.”

Kody is most definitely changing the Grinch’s heart this year. Captain He's taken on the challenge of bringing Mr. Grinch some much-needed cheer, and I am rather proud of him for that, especially since this is Kody’s very first Christmas.

“Well, in Whoville they say—that the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes that day. And then, the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of 10 Grinches plus two!”

Captain Kody says, ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS to all—even that stinker, Mr. Grinch!”

Ahhhh!!! Too cute! You've outdone yourself, Andrea. Merry Christmas & still looking forward to Captain Kody's reaction to this year's first big snowfall.
