Last month, ABC News carried a story of a 46-year-old fighting colon cancer. It centered on the huge cost of treatment: $400,000.
These people are lucky that their friends are helping raise the treatment costs.
But the best option is: early colonoscopy that detects polyps that may be cancerous or become cancerous.
Katie Couric is suggesting every one over 40 to get screening. Her husband died at 48 of colon cancer. FYI, she took her friend Kim—50 years old—for a screening. Kim found an olive-size cancerous polyp. Lucky for her, it was removed and she saved $400,000 and lot of pain.
If you have questions-please call us at 630-232-2025. Painless colonoscopy at lower prices is available now for those without insurance.

The guidelines for Colon Cancer Screening are 40 and over for Afro Americans, but remain at 50 and over for others.
18.9% of Colon Cancer are found for people under 54-- according CDC data.
I agree with Katie Couric that people who are 40 yrs. old (40-50yrs) should get Colon Cancer screening. 19% is too high a risk for Colon Cancer.
As for as costs --talk to our staff at 630 232 2025--we are ready to help with lower costs.
It hurts me to see 40 yr. or 45yr.old with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

As I read Fiscal Cliff--it means that our Govt.deficits are adding to more debt.
This has to be reversed--Democrats have their own ideas and Republicans have their own.
Majority of concern is about Entitlements--or MEDICARE.
One idea being discussed--Move Medicare eligibility to 66 and charge higher premiums for wealthy earning over 100,000$. Currently the premiums are higher for those who make 150,000$.
I think changes in Medicare are coming-- it is going to cost more for those on Medicare--with reduced benefits.
So what's the smart thing to do:
1) Focus on Prevention--like Flu Shots,Colon Screening etc.--as serious illness or Cancer can go above the Medicare limits.Cancer treatments are getting more expensive-far above Medicare Lifetime maximum. Colon Cancer-Stage 4 can cost over 400,000$-far above what Medicare will pay.
2) Get annual check ups.
3) Eat right
4) Exercise regularly-Go to GYM or Walk in safe area. Heart attacks in Jan. are 2 times more than in July. Why? People don't get enough Sun daylight and exercise.
