West Street Neighborhood Hit With Car Burglary Spree
Five vehicles are broken into, all parked in driveways or the street in the area of West Street, West Lane and Maple Court between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
Some person or persons raided vehicles in the neighborhood east of Williamsburg Avenue and south of West State Street between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, according to Geneva police reports.
Vehicle Burglary—Someone took a Garmin Global Positioning System (GPS) from a Ford Explorer parked in the 300 block of West Lane sometime between 10 p.m. Nov. 30 and 9:36 a.m. Dec. 1, Geneva police reports said. The vehicle was parked in the street and police found it with the passenger door partially open. Police canvassed the neighborhood and found that there was another burglary to a motor vehicle in the 100 block of Maple Court. The Garmin was valued at $75.
Vehicle Burglary—Someone took two Garmin GPS devices, two pairs of Oakley sunglasses, a 4-inch rubber handle “Buck” knife and a Black & Decker socket set from two Ford Escorts parked in the 100 block of Maple Court sometime between 10:30 p.m. Nov. 30 and 7 a.m. Dec. 1, reports said. Both vehicles were parked in the driveway, and the total estimated value of the items taken is $1,070.
Vehicle Burglary—Someone took a jacket, sweater and two “elv” Christmas ornaments lying on the seat of a Kia Spectra parked in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of West Street sometime between 11 p.m. Nov. 30 and 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1, reports said. The items have a value of about $90.
Criminal Trespass to Vehicle—Someone entered and rummaged through a Toyota RAV4 parked in the driveway of a home in the 200 block of West Street sometime between 12:30 p.m. Nov. 30 and 10 a.m. Dec. 1, reports said. As far as the owner could tell, nothing was missing.
