Weather Update: Snow on the Way

You can still expect a blustery, snowy Tuesday.

The National Weather Service-Chicago has issued a Winter Storm Watch for potentially heavy snow and strong winds starting Tuesday morning and continuing through Tuesday afternoon.

The watch was issued at around 10:25 a.m. Monday for most of Northern Illinois.

For Kane County, wet snow could be mixed with sleet. The precipitation is supposed to taper off into light snow Tuesday evening, the NWS-C says.

Accumulation could be as much as 6 inches, and the wind is supposed to gust to 40 mph, especially near the lake. One of the big concerns is travel visibility, which could make for "hazardous" driving conditions, the NWS-C says.

It's also that kind of "heart-attack snow" that's tough on shovelers, so just be careful if you're the one wielding the shovel.

Obviously, there's a good chance for delays and cancellations at O'Hare and Midway airports. If you've got a flight number, you can set up an account for alerts regarding delays or cancellations at O'Hare at this website.

Heart Attack Snow !!!! Pl.help readers how to avoid it.
My suggestion: Shovel little at a time and if you have heart condition--ask someone to do it. Paying 30$ is better than paying thousands to ER .
