Employees of two businesses are arrested after a Police Department sweep.
Employees from two St. Charles businesses have been cited for selling alcohol to two 19-year-old civilians working with the St. Charles Police Department.
The two teenagers were part of a recent liquor compliance inspection conducted by the Police Department April 27. The department inspected 20 establishments that sell alcohol within St. Charles.
Two of the establishments, Magoo’s Tavern and SavWay Liquors, were cited for selling alcohol to minors. Officers arrested Magoo’s employee Renee M. Misceo, 2208 Schrader Lane, North Aurora, and SavWay Liquors employee Allen F. Diomedes, 1225 S. 11th St., St. Charles, for violating the city ordinance against the sale of alcohol to minors.
The Police Department will send congratulatory letters to the businesses found in compliance. Reports documenting the sale of liquor to the minors will be forwarded to the city of St. Charles' Liquor Control Commission.
