Tri-Cities Gas Guide: March 6, 2013

The upward trend in gasoline reversed itself a bit this week, with the national average price dropping 5.9 cents a gallon from a week ago. Still, prices are 20.4 cents a gallon higher than a month ago.
The Costco on Randall Road near Oak Street in St. Charles and the Sam’s Club at Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway in Batavia had the cheapest gas prices in the Tri-Cities on Wednesday night, according to Illinois Gas Prices.
AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report showed that nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline on late Wednesday was $3.727 a gallon, down from $3.737 a day earlier, also down from $3.786 a week ago. The national average of a gallon of regular gas a month ago was $3.523, but was $3.764 a year ago. The highest recorded average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.114 on July 17, 2008.
