Traffic Stop, Results in Marijuana Arrest

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A traffic stop resutled in a speeding ticket and two marijuana-related charges for a Wasco man last week.

Geneva police arrested Anthony Arturi, 20, on charges of possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at around 12:35 a.m. Aug. 23 after a traffic stop in the 400 block of West State Street, reports said.

According to the complaint in the 16th District Judicial Court, Arturi had 1.1 grams of a substance containing cannabis and a glass smoking pipe. He was also given a warning notice for driving 38 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Arturi is scheduled to appear Sept. 13 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.
