This 'Rear Window' Story Involves Hatchback, Not Hitchcock

Police reports: In separate incidents two vehicle rear windows are smashed in parking lots of Geneva Commons and Winsor Court.

With the Academy Award nominations out this week, it's hard not to think about movies, and the classic Rear Window came to mind in a quick review of police reports collected Monday.

Two vehicle rear windows were broken in separate incidents. Neither involved Jimmy Stewart or Grace Kelly. There was a hatchback, but no Hitchcock.

Criminal Damage to Property—Someone broke the hatchback window of a Ford Explorer in the Geneva Commons parking lot near Dick’s Sporting Goods, 618 Commons Drive, sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6:14 p.m. Jan. 14, reports said. Damage to the window and body damage to the Explorer was estimated at $500.

Criminal Damage to Property Over $300—Someone broke the rear window of a Ford Escape in the parking lot of 1316 Winsor Court sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 2:10 p.m. Jan. 15, reports said. None of the neighbors reported hearing or seeing anything suspicious. Police did not find any object that might have been thrown or used to break the window. The estimated cost to replace the window was $400, according to reports.
