Readers Choice: What's Your Favorite St. Patrick's Day Pub?

Where's your favorite place in the Tri-Cities to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a pint and a friend?

Top o' the mornin' to ya.

With St. Patrick's Day coming up on March 17, we thought it might be fun to do our Tri-Cities "Readers Choice" this week on the best places to go for a pint and a bit of the blarney.

Here's how the "Readers' Choice" works. You have three ways to make your favorite known. You can review the restaurant by clicking on the listing below and adding a star rating and writing something about the business. You can add a comment to this story. (Be sure to name the pub and say something nice.) And you can vote in the Patch poll here.

The scoring is as follows:

  • 5 points — Review
  • 3 points — comment
  • 1 point — vote in poll

The voting continues until noon Friday, March 16.

At that time, we'll count up the points and name the top three winners.

IMPORTANT: If we missed any pubs in the Tri-Cities, let us know ASAP by contacting Rick Nagel at rickn@patch.com or 630-886-0792.

If you voted in the comments here, you can really throw your support behind a particular pub by forwarding this email to your friends and telling them about the poll.

Anyplace but McNally's is cool, the atmosphere is super forced and no offense to whoever made the patio comment but The Office, Filling Station, and The Alley have substantially larger patios. McN's is a major rip off, more-so on St. Patty's day.

Claddagh is the place to go...if you've never had a "Black & Blue" (Guiness and Blue Moon), you gotta try it.

In St Charles it has to be McNally's. Geneva's Claddagh is much more family-friendly, though. Unfortunately, Stockholm's in Geneva is not included in the poll because it has no pretense to being Irish. But in truth, it is the most like a real Irish pub. Amazingly good food, unparalleled service, and a sincerely welcoming atmosphere.
