Reader's Choice 2012: Who Serves the Best Margarita in the Tri-Cities?

Which restaurant's margarita in Geneva, Batavia or St. Charles will win the coveted Readers’ Choice 2012 Award?

Where do you go when you want a margarita? Is there a bar in the area that makes its own mix, and perfectly salts the rim? Or are you a sucker for pairing a sweet frozen concoction with spicy tacos?

We want to know where in the Tri-Cities area you go when you've got a taste for tequila and lime.

Nominations were accepted on Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles Patch through July 9.

Winners in all Readers' Choice categories will be announced on Aug. 24.

The poll will open to accept votes from registered Patch users starting on July 23 and close at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 17.

My own backyard and a Margarita Man blenderfuls mix - it's the best! Better yet, why not invite friends over and rent their machine. We did this a few weeks ago for a block party and the neighbors loved it.

Bar and Restaurants are fine, but when I want a great margarita I use "The Margarita Man" mix relaxing at home or rent one of their machines for a frozen delight. The Watermelon and Mango Margaritas are wonderful!

It's hard to beat the margs at Bien Trucha. And while you're there you might as well go for the fish tacos or anything else on the menu. I also recommend El Mocajete in Geneva for both drinks and food. Easier to get in than Bien Trucha but similar in many ways.

Poblano pepper grill has the best, fresh, home made, made from scratch margaritas. Yeah thats right from scratch, i sat at the bar and watched, no mix at all! Cucumber, mango, pineapple, classic, jicama, strawberry, and poblano flavors i have yet to try them all! But i would recommend this to my grandmother who doesnt drink!
