ST. CHARLES
Ryan F. Farrell, 38, of the 200 block of West Main Street, was charged at 4:53 p.m. Nov. 14 at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, with retail theft. According to the report, Farrell used the UPC code of a lesser-priced toy to purchase two LEGO Vampire Castle sets valued at $99.99 each for just $15.10. He was released on his own recognizance after posting a $50 booking fee and was ordered to appear in court Dec. 6.
GENEVA
Geneva police arrested Roman Ladron-DeGuevara, 35, of Geneva on charges of possession of a controlled substance and cited him for public intoxication around 12:31 a.m. Nov. 10 in the 1200 block of Lencioni Circle, reports said. According to the synopsis sheet, officers reported to a disturbance call by a neighbor. Ladron-DeGuevara was standing at the front door of the residence and was trying to wake someone to let him in.
Reports said Ladron-DeGuevara had an unsteady gait, trouble keeping his balance and a strong odor of alcohol about him. As he was taken into custody for public intoxication, officers found three green pills inside a container in Ladron-DeGuevara’s front pocket. The report did not say what the drug might be but said officers did advise Ladron-DeGuevara that it was illegal to possess the drugs in an unauthorized container.
GLEN ELLYN
A resident reported that her car was hit by a golf ball while she was driving on Lambert Avenue. The incident, which was reported at 1 p.m. Nov. 17, took place near Lambert Avenue and Orchard Lane, police said.
A resident was reported to be banging on a door at 1:34 a.m. Nov. 9 in the 1300 block of East Wilson Street. A police officer escorted the person back to his or her own apartment.
