Plan Ahead to FALL into FUN at Festival of the Vine

Savor the flavor of Geneva during Festival of the Vine, our autumn harvest celebration.

Geneva's Festival of the Vine is a celebration of the flavors of fall.  Initially a celebration of anything grown on a vine, the festival now revolves around food and wine.

The event runs Sept. 9 through 11, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Fourth and State streets.

Geneva has a great number of fine restaurants showcased at the “Flavor Fare” along with a variety of wine for purchase. For 30 years, restaurants have set up under one huge tent offering three of their favorite signature items. Visitors purchase tickets and buy a “taste” at one of the featured restaurants in the tent.  To accompany your food, unique wines from around the world will be available for purchase.  Enjoy versatile local and Chicago-area musical and dance entertainers on the stage throughout the weekend.

Looking for some decorating ideas for your home? Maybe some tips on spicing up an autumn dish? The Harvest Stage hosts a variety of free demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday.

Young visitors will enjoy Kids Corner in the Courthouse parking lot.  The Shodeen Swedish Cottage needs finishing touches. A community project that was started at Swedish Days, continued at Geneva Arts Fair and completed during this festival will then be donated to Mutual Ground by Shodeen.

Other events during the festival include an arts and crafts show, merchant wine events, flower market, business booths, complimentary trolley and horse drawn carriage rides plus great shopping in Geneva’s historic downtown.

A complete schedule of events, hours, and a brochure will be available mid August at www.genevachamber.com,  click on festivals and events or call 630-232-6060.
