Last Harry Potter Movie Premieres, Draws Thousands to St. Charles Theater

Hardly a muggle was in sight at Charlestowne 18 as the last film in the Harry Potter series opens with a midnight show.

Charlestowne 18 Classic Cinemas in St. Charles looked like a Hogwarts rally as thousands gathered hours before the midnight opening of the final Harry Potter movie.

Employees said people were waiting at the door with blankets at 10:30 a.m. By 8 p.m., the lines snaked along the walls and into the main hallway with camp chairs, with people playing cards and costumed theater-goers reciting some of the famous lines from the movies.

Theater manager Randy Pollock cheerily walked through the lobby wearing his yellow- and red-striped scarf, a staple of the Hogwarts uniform.

All 18 theaters were sold out for the midnight show of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows—Part 2, a total of 2,615 seats.

The movie is the second part of the last book and marks the end of the Harry Potter series.

It was great to see the mall parking lot so crowded, wish it looked like that all the time!
