Blaming Bush is the DemoRATS excuse. Sorry, Oblamer has to go. He robbed Medicare of 716 BILLION dollars to fund his socialist so-called healthcare program, Obummer Care. How narcissitic is it for a President to name a robbery program after himself? America and Americans should be ashamed of themselves for voting for his fraud and the Con-Man-in Chief that he is.

G. Ryan. apparently you spend so much mental energy coming up with your cutesy "play on words" titles that you have little left for rational thought, First of all Oblamer called the legislation he sponsored The Affordable Health Care Act. It was was your pals in Congress the NOPublicans who tagged it with the name "Obamacare" And you need to brush up on the history of Medicare. http://www.understandingmymedicare.com/history-of-medicare.asp. It was created by DemoRat Lyndon Johnson in 1965 as an ammendment to the Social Security Act created under the administration of Demorat Frankilin D. Roosevelt. Getting the theme here G? You can't get an already more "socialist" system than the government run programs of Social Security and Medicare. But my guess is your probably getting along in years now and you feel you can benefit from such a system so its now "get the governments hands off my government controlled taxpayer financed Social Security and Medicaire"... Ah the Irony!

G. Ryan, Your attempt to hang the blame for the name "Obamacare" on the president was effectively (and corrrectly) debunked by James Parnell. It was intended to keep reminding people of whom to blame for it. The Obama campaign smartly decided to go along with it, since there was little or no chance of undoing it anyway.

Now as to your second mistake. The $716 Billion that the president proposes to remove "from" Medicare was actually a REDUCTION in costs and overcharges that was found. Not one cent was removed from anyone's benefits. A more interesting fact is that Paul Ryan (I trust that you recognize him as Gov. Romney's VP running mate) also found the same $716 Billion in cost savings in his plan. After being named to the GOP ticket, he changed his mind on that, since it didn't fit Romney's plans.

Mr. Parnell...Let the truth be told. Pres. Oblamer ROBBED Medicare to FUND the socialist healthcare agenda of his ObummerCare. Cutesy or not it is a FACT. Citing to brush up on my history does not change the status of this transaction. And guess what the Affordable Health Care Act is not affordable as it is nothing but a Huge TAX which Demorats thrive on. Another government rip-off sponsored program.

And Mitotero the principle of the issue is this Nation cannot afford ObummerCare or Obummer. Within this decade the US will be at 26 trillion in DEBT. Washington spends 3.8 trillion annually and collects 2.5 trillion in taxes which leaves a 1.3 trillion deficit. Will not be long America will collapse just like Greece. It will no longer sustain itself just like the Geneva School District. And the point I am making is if Obuzzard loved this country he would not allow his ObummerCare to manifest because there is no financial foundation to support it. Illinois and the US are broke. And he had his chance and what did he do? He keeps spending, spending and spending just lke the Spenders of the School District. So Americans can continue to divide and not unite. This is not going to go away. We are just prolonging the inevitable.

Sal

9:46 pm on Sunday, September 9, 2012

In my opinion, the biggest problem in the US is a lack of job opportunities.
President Obama's health care initiative contains some provisions that are buried in the law that make it even more costly to hire employees, not to mention additional taxes on investemnt retturns (including the sale of your home).
If Barack Obama is elected to another 4 years, I suggest you plot your own individual economic survival strategies.

The "job problem" isn't going to go away. Here's why... 1. For us to really create jobs, we'd have to lower our standard of living to that of China's. 2. The digital age has brought incredible automation opportunities to manufacturing. Robotics, CAD/CAM, additive manufacturing, sensor and relay technology and a raft of other advancements have been made user friendly and cheap enough for the average factory to take advantage of. On the retail end, the internet is eliminating retail jobs by the thousands. That's all great for convenience, quality, productivity and the bottom line, but not so good for creating (now needless) employment. This is not going to be solved politically. The answer? Employ people to do nothing? Union rules? I hope not. What I hope is that more entrepreneurs create more products and companies for filling a lot of needs society has. Electric cars? Cleaner power plants? Plenty of new tech opportunities for those with courage and talent.

Here's a dilema...Elon Musk, is a contemporary hero of mine (Space-X, Tesla). His new Model S will be sold out of "stores", like Apple Stores, rather than "dealerships"....Job killer or creator? I'm sure the car dealers will be up in arms about that if he succeeds in selling a lot of pure-electric, zero emissions cars. I drove one for 20 minutes and will never look at another gasoline car the same again...They're phenomenal. Lots of new opportunity and problems.

Yes! Greedy Millionaires! Watching the video of Romney speaking in May and the intonation in his voice when he said of the 47% that they feel "entitled to food" he just has the worst disdain and disgust in his voice. It made my skin crawl. It makes me laugh when above comments mention "socialized medicine". You have no idea what you are talking about! The administration and healthcare industry agreed to lower the cost of healthcare. The providers agreed to lower reimbursements because they know that they will have more subscribers...sound familiar? That's exactly what your PPO plan does. This is just on a much broader scale which will bring costs down even more. Believe me, I would have loved single payer, but this was a "compromise" something republicans don't understand. As far as the mandate, that was a republican idea...until it was in the bill, then they vilified it.
This election will go to President Obama, Thank God. With so many social justice issues hanging in the balance it would be a travesty for this country to have more right wing ideologues on the court.

Many small business men are "millionaires." We all want millionaires in this country. We don't want businesses run like the mortgage and banks that tank our economy. There has to be morality and accountability in our business community. Google the speech from the CEO of Costco at the Democratic convention.

Becky - actually, he wasn't just better rehearsed. He was just better. Obama performed poorly. If I have to hear him trot his grandmother out one more time for a debate "feel good" point my heads going to explode.

Isn't it funny how people's inner biases have them in blinders for their whole life? Most people have a million opinions and thoughts, most of which are unsubstantiated and/or completely invalid.

For instance, riddle me this. Obama attacked Romney over education and teachers multiple times, and Mass is ranked #1. I felt like I was taking stupid pills watching it. That said, at the end of the debate people were posting about how Romney would negatively impact education. That isn't realistic is it? No - but it triggered some feelings inside when their candidate spoke those words so now they are going to run around spewing them out.

Regardless of which... The world isn't going to end in the next four years whoever gets elected. That said, Karl Marx was wrong. Religion isn't the opiate of the masses. Democracy and free handouts are.

Please. Obama's realized he can make a living off suckers that he can promise government hand outs to... Hope and change is a slogan, not reality.

Romney has changed a few things as he's gone along. I don't find that to be horribly bothering though. Businesses have to change directions relatively frequently and adapt. The government doesn't have that mindset... And it doesn't bode we'll with some voters that want to see 100% garbage spouted up front as long as it aligns with their belief system. Instead of spreading incredible lies based on a few stereotypes that you perpetuate to feed your own belief system... Why don't you just tell a first time voter "good job".

FYI, a few stupid comments made by politicians don't describe everybody in a party. If they did, both sides and inbetween would be a mess.

Lisa. - good job on voting. Keep at it. For the rest of your life people will try and get you to bend to their view points. Peer pressure is not a reason to vote for a candidate. Have a great week!

I intended a friendly tone, thats why "I said lots of stuff to consider"...just throwing it out there, since Lisa stated she based her decision to vote a straight Republican ticket based on two issues.
There are currently about 10 Republican congressman who hold that view on abortion, Justin.
