Looking for something a little different or special for this year's Valentine's Day? Here are some Geneva-area ideas for an out-of-the-ordinary night out with your date.

A few words of caution: Some of these might be sold out by now, and these are a just sampling of the fun suggestions we've seen in the past few weeks. If you've got ideas, or if you're a local business with a Valentine's Day offer, please share it with Geneva in the comments section below!

Enjoy a musical night out at EvenFlow Music & Spirits with Sharon Lewis and Texas Fire. "Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Chicago Blues Legend and some delicious food off our winter menu—it’s the perfect date!" EvenFlow's website says.

Want to try something unexpected? How about a romantic candlelight dinner at Colonial Cafe & Ice Cream? We already know how much Genevans like their ice cream.

Love baseball? How about an unforgettable Valentine's Day experience at the ballpark? The Kane County Cougars are now accepting reservations for a Valentine's Day Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 14. Couples can enjoy a private, candlelit suite, along with a complete dinner that includes a salad, entree with side dishes, along with dessert! You can get complete details by clicking here.

Of course, if you love fine dining, there is no better choice than Niche, 14 S. Third St. Valentine’s dinner goes from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the Romantic Valentine's Day menu or the regular menu. Call 630-262-1000 for reservations.

Likewise, you can have a candle-lit Valentine’s Day dinner Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 at Chez Moi Café & Catering, 415 W. State St. Reservations are required at 331-248-0654.

Do you love the feeling of being in the country at a romantic bed-and-breakfast? You don't have to go any farther than the Oscar Swan Country Inn, 1800 W. State St. Oscar Swan offers a Valentine’s Day dinner at 7 p.m. for $39.95/person. Visit www.oscarswan.com or call 630-232-0173.

And if historic charm is up your alley, how about dinner for $49/per person at Hotel Baker, 100 W. Main St., St. Charles? Packages for room accommodations start at $189, Dinner and Room Packages start at $299. Call 630-584-2100 for reservations.

Again, these are just a few of the interesting notions we've seen bandied about in the past couple weeks.
