Buses Get Home, Mail Gets Delivered, Homeowners Start Digging
The snow is coming in waves, but kids are getting home in Geneva.
The school bus just arrived in our neighborhood, thank goodness.
The collector streets are clear and getting a lot of traffic. Mail is still getting delivered. Residents with snowblowers and shovels are already digging out.
We don't know if this snowfall will qualify as the blizzard of 2012, but it does have a little of the same feeling as last winter's big dump. I'm guessing that we have about 4 inches so far, and it's still coming down like crazy.
School District 304 has caneceled all after-school activities.
I'm listening to the scanner as I type this at 3:30 p.m., and there are reports, one after the other, of accidents or people needing a push or a tow or some other police assistance.
Check the Traffic & Gas tab above to see which routes are green, yellow or red for your commute home.
Add your snow photos to this story or in our Geneva Gallery.
Have fun in the snow with your favorite pet, family member or friend.
Most of all, get home safe and sound.
