Vote for Your Favorites in Geneva's Dancing with the Stars
Geneva has its own dancing stars, and they are raising money for two good causes.
The 2011 Dancing with the Geneva Stars will perform Feb. 5 at the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission's annual fundraiser at Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva. The event raises funds for the arts commission and the Geneva Academic Foundation.
The public may vote for their favorite couples from now until the competition. Votes cost $1 each, and can be placed on the genevarts.org website starting Jan. 3 or through return envelopes that will arrive with invitations to past attendees.
Reservations for the event are $35 per person, and also can be made online.
Voters can vote as often as they want. Not only is multiple voting allowed, it is encouraged. The couple with the most votes, thus raising the most money, will be declared the winner at the conclusion of the dancing.
Competing couples and their dances are:
Anne and Matt Cesarone performing salsa—Anne is president of the Geneva Academic Foundation and project manager for Advanced Telecommunications; Matt is an account manager for Allegient Systems.
Jane and Peter Cladis performing the waltz—Jane is a member of the Geneva Park District Foundation Board; Peter is physician with Fox Valley Family Physicians.
Amanda and Adam Law performing the cha-cha—Amanda is a nurse practitioner; Adam is principal of Heartland Elementary School in Geneva.
Jeanne and Donald Cummings performing the tango—Jeanne is an American Airlines flight attendant; Don owns Blue Haven Capital and is a member of the Geneva Library Board.
Nancy and Ralph Dantino performing swing—Nancy is a daycare provider and has been active in the Geneva Academic Foundation and St. Peter's Barn sale; Ralph is Fifth Ward alderman.
Therese and Steve Davison performing the paso doble—Therese and Steve own three 7-Eleven stores in the area, and are active in the Geneva Sports Boosters.
