Marklund provides a variety of care for people with profound developmental disabilities, including disabilities due to complications during pregnancy, fetal alcohol syndrome, genetic disorders or traumatic injury. Nearly all of those served are non-ambulatory and have severe cognitive problems. Marklund serves families seeking care for loved ones with such problems.

Volunteers assist on community outings, at the organization's resale shop, at sporting events, at social events for clients, with maintenance of facilities, at fundraisers and at special summer events for clients.
