The Northern Illinois Food Bank distributes more than 36.5 million pounds of food a year, using 75,000 hours of volunteer help. The food bank accepts the help of single volunteers or large groups, on a one-time or recurring basis.
Volunteers load food and do many other jobs, as well. The food bank's headquarters is in St. Charles.
