John J. Jaeger, 53, of Springfield, formerly of Batavia, died peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2012 in his mother's home in Geneva of natural causes.
Born in Geneva on May 7, 1958, John was the son of John J. Jaeger and Eleanore Wermuth Jaeger. He attended the Valley School for Exceptional Children in Batavia and Elizabeth Keeler School in Aurora. In 1976 he became a resident of Brother James Court in Springfield, a nursing home for developmentally disabled men.
He was preceded in death by his father, John, his grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his mother Eleanore; sister Kathy Jaeger, brothers Mike (Margaret) Jaeger, Joe Jaeger and Tim (Gail) Jaeger and sister Betsy (Stephen) Lawson; nephews Matt, Gerred, Matt and Luke Jaeger, niece Angela Jaeger and great nieces Kiana McMorris, Olivia, Lily and Tatum Jaeger. He is also survived by his favorite teacher, Sister Agnes Daniels.
Among his family and his many friends at Brother James Court, where he was known as J.J., John will be remembered for his love of music and his mischievous sense of humor.
A private Funeral Mass was followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
