City's Advisory Panels Rely on Volunteers

  • August 26, 2010

The City of Geneva relies on 11 different commissions, committees and advisory boards to provide policy recommendations and advice to the City Council, to provide oversight for some activities and to help provide some services to residents.

As vacancies occur, civic-minded individuals can offer to serve with the Beautification Committee, the Commercial Sign Committee, the Cultural Arts Commission, the Fire and Police Commission, the Geneva Downtown Partnership Committee, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Mental Health Board, the Plan Commission, the Public Building Commission, the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee, and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

To learn more about these volunteer opportunities and where your qualifications and skills might best be put to use and how to apply to the individual panels, go the city's website and download the volunteer handbook.
