Imagine a store pulled from the dreams of every woman in America.

That’s Charming Charlie.

The Texas-based accessory boutique celebrated the grand opening of its Geneva Commons store on July 20, and guests flooded the store all day long.

“We were so pleasantly surprised to see so many people out on a Tuesday,” said general manager Katie Thomas.

Shoppers curious to see what’s taken the place of Bombay & Co. have been drawn in by Charming Charlie’s up-tempo music and smiling “charmers,” as the store affectionately calls its employees.

Full disclosure: When I’m not writing about local Whiz Kids or businesses for sale, I’m a charmer. I love this store. And one of the most common questions I get from first-time guests is an incredulous, “What IS this place?”

The store seems a little overwhelming, to be sure. Dresses and purses and necklaces and handbags are everywhere you look. But there’s a method to the madness – Thomas said the store is completely organized by color, and the charmers are there to help you find whatever you need.

The employees are so bubbly and upbeat you can’t help but leave with a smile on your face, and Thomas said their energy is truly genuine. “Who wouldn’t want to get dressed up and make women feel good about themselves every day, right?” she asked.

That’s the store’s goal – to ensure every customer leaves with a perfect purchase.

So you need earrings in just the right shade of blue to match that dress you love?  Charming Charlie has them.
